CMR University Eligibility

CMR University offers BSc programme at UG level. Candidates applying to BSc programme at CMR University should have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks. Students who give CUET exam are eligible for direct admission.

Candidates are selected based on merit or entrance exam score at CMR University. The courses are offered in multiple specialisations such as Accounting, Commercial Law, Computer Science, etc. For MBA courses, the university accepts CMAT/MAT, etc., entrance exam scores.

Virohan: CMR University offers merit-based admission to its courses. Virohan CMR University Bengaluru courses are offered to students in full-time mode and across several specialisations such as OTT, MRIT, MLT, OPTO, and many more. Further, candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme at Virohan CMR Bangalore must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board.

Candidates must complete a four-year bachelor's degree programme or a two-year master's degree programme after a three-year bachelor's degree programme with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories) to apply for School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University PhD programme. 

Candidates must pass PUC/ Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board to apply for School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University BCom (Hons) programme. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. Besides, candidates must also pass CMRUAT for admission to BCom (Hons) course.

School of Architecture, CMR University offers scholarship to BArch students based on CMRUAT score. CMRUAT is an in-house entrance exam conducted by the university in online mode. Below is the detailed criteria for the scholarship:

Candidates who have passed a master’s degree or a professional degree with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL) or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale are eligible to apply for PhD programme.  Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% aggregate can also apply.

School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University conducts an entrance exam to select candidates for PhD course. Candidates with M.Phil degree from a recognised university are exempted from taking the entrance examination, if the degree has been obtained on or after July 11, 2009. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round. 

Candidates need to pass 2nd PUC/ Class 12 or equivalent exam with English as one of the languages and secured at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for Karnataka reserved category candidates) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computers/ Home Science/ Geology/ Statistics to apply for SOET CMR University BTech courses.

CMR University provides sports scholarship to candidates pursuing a course from School of Engineering and Technology. Aspirants get a maximum waiver of 70% under this scholarship. Below are the details:
