The COAP registration is completly free. Candidates can register for COAP using their GATE scores without paying in fees. The mode of the registration is online and must be completed within the specific deadline. The GATE COAP Round 1 counselling starts from May 17. Candidates can check the schedule below -

Once the COAP registration is completed, candidates will be receive a COAP ID, which candidates can use it to apply in the participating institutes, such as IITs, NITs, and GFTIs. During the counselling rounds, candidates can access the COAP counselling to accept, reject, and freeze their options. In the final round, candidates will have to make the final decision in the selection of the college for admission.

To access and take a decision on the most preferred choice out of the offers (if any) made by participating Institute (s), each candidate should register and visit COAP. Without registering at COAP, the candidate will not be able to access the offers on COAP.Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field of study from a university. Candidates must have a valid GATE score or rank card. It is the primary basis for shortlisting candidates for admission to PG programs. The COAP 2024 registration window for GATE qualified candidates is closed. It typically starts around March and concludes in May/June.
However, COAP Registration Process is:
- Visit the official COAP website.
- Click on "New User Registration".
- Enter your details, including your GATE registration ID, and create a password.
- Login to the COAP portal using your credentials.
- Fill out the registration form carefully.
- Pay the registration fee (if applicable)
- Submit your application form and save a copy for reference.

No member institute accepts applications through COAP 2024 for admission to the M.Tech program. Candidates should submit separate applications to the appropriate Institute (s) for admission to the M.Tech programme and PSU for jobs.

Yes, you need to sign up once again. Registration for COAP 2022-2023 is not acceptable to COAP 2024. Every academic session follows new registration for the candidates, the previous registrations are not entertained.

It is advisable to register with information related to the highest GATE Score. During registration, you will also provide valid GATE score details of remaining years between 2022 and 2024. You will register only once but registration details will include all other GATE scores of the last three years. Failing to do so will result in disqualification.

During COAP registration, a candidate should provide qualified GATE registration details (as entered in the GATE application form), Mobile Number and Email ID.

Case I: Candidates graduating / graduated from IITs who have a valid GATE score (2024 and/or 2023 and/or 2022) and intend to apply for the Admission in the participating Institutes, then the candidate should register at COAP with their qualified GATE score (s).
Case II: Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B.Tech. Degree and having CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above can directly apply to the respective Institutes for MTech Admission. They may not register at COAP.
