Yes, candidates with GATE score of 400 to 500 are also eligible for COAP counselling. However, admission and selection chances completely depends on different criteria such as branch selection, competition level, category, etc.

CGPA is different for each category. For General/EWS and OBC-NCL category, the required CGPA is 6.5 on a 10-point scale, which is 60%. While, for SC/ST and PwD, required CGPA is 6.0 on a 10-point scale, which is 55%.

IIT Roorkee is conducting COAP 2026 counselling. There are a total of 10 rounds of counselling, where GATE- qualified candidates have to perform the following actions -

Yes, COAP portal for GATE 2026 counselling has been launched. Currently, registrations are ongoing for IIT M.Tech admission. In addition, the counselling dates (round-wise) have been released, and will begin from May 11 onwards.

Yes, it is mandatory to register at COAP. To apply, candidates need to check their eligibility and register at respective IITs and COAP portal. The counselling will be held in rounds. Candidates will have to perform choice filling, locking, document verification process, etc.

The GATE COAP counselling registration is done online. It not an application form portal, but an admission portal where candidates will be able to choose their preferred institutes based on GATE scores.

COAP stands for Common Offer Acceptance Portal. It is portal that allows candidates to select offer given by the IITs and PSUs for M.Tech admission and jobs. Every year, different IITs conduct COAP counselling on a rotation basis. Candidates with valid GATE score can apply.
