In comparison with NIFT Gandhinagar, the National Institute of Fashion Technology is thought to be better for B.Des students. When comparing just the tuition costs, NLSIU is noticeably more expensive than TNDALU. The cheaper hostel costs at TNDALU, however, somewhat make up for the disparity. Living costs are much more in Bangalore than they are in Chennai. Considering all of these variables, NLSIU's overall tuition for undergraduate programmes is probably more expensive than TNDALU's, however specific scholarship circumstances may differ.

TNDALU Chennai has two  options for admission to B.Sc. programs, each of which has its own cut-off points. A student must have secured at least 50% of the possible marks in all subjects and must have passed the compulsory 10+2 courses in mathematics and physics  to gain direct entry. The approximate cutoffs for  general category should be 95%, for OBC category the cut off should be 90% and for SC/ST category the cut off should be 85%.   Minimum cut off marks are available for admission in TNPCEE.
