There are various job opportunities available for BTech graduates in the government sector. The IIIT Delhi BTech graduates can apply for central government or state government jobs. Candidates have to clear the respective selection procedure to secure the job. Mentioned below are some of the government agencies that offers jobs to BTech degree holders:

  • ISRO, HAL, and DRDO
  • ONGC, BHEL, NTPC, and SAIL
  • Departments of Railways, Public Works Department (PWD), Defence, and Telecommunications, etc.

Yes, IIIT Delhi is ranked by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). In 2024, the institute is ranked #85 in the "Engineering" category. Its ranking shows a declining trend for the past three years. The institute was ranked by NIRF #75 in 2023 and #69 in 2022. The institute is also the sixth best among NIRF ranked colleges in Delhi in 2024.

According to official website, Schedule for the Special Spot Round of Counselling For B.Tech. Courses at DTU (2025-26) was in August 27, 2025, at Dr. B.R.AMBEDKAR AUDITORIUM Delhi Technological University, Main Bawana Road Shahbad Daulatpur, Delhi.

The institute may follow the reservation policy as prescribed by the state or central government. IIIT Delhi BTech seat allotment is carried out through JAC counselling. There are a total of 548 seats (as per official website/sanctioning body, but still subject to changes). Some key pointers related to seats reservation at IIITD are:

  • 85% of seats are for Delhi candidates who have done Class 12 from Delhi
  • 15% of seats for outside delhi candidates
  • A 5% relaxation to defence category candidates

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi has the highest number of seats for the BTech CSE programme. The institute has 121 seats for the BTech CSE programme. During seat allotment, the sanctioned seat intake is considered along with applicants exam score and category. The institute/sanctioning body has the right to revise the seat intake in an academic year. Moreover, the seat count mentioned here is as per the official website/sanctioning body. Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIITD) may not offer direct admission to its BTech courses. The admission is primarily entrance-based. IIIT Delhi BTech admission is done on the basis of applicants JEE Main score followed by JAC Delhi counselling for seat allotment. Additionally, the students from Delhi can apply for the BTech CSD counse with a valid UCEED rank. The institute also admit non-science Delhi students to BTech CSSS course based on performance in Class 12 and without a exam score. Before applying, aspirants should check out the course-specific eligibility requirements.
