If we compare the MBA seats offered by NIT Hamirpur, NIT Rourkela and NIT Kurukshetra we will find that NIT Hamirpur offers the least amount of seats in the MBA programme out of the three institutes. NIT Hamirpur offers 40 seats while NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela offer 53 and 75 seats, respectively.

It is important to note that, although NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats, the institute has a higher tuition fee than the other two colleges.

If we compare the tuition fees of NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra and NIT Rourkela we will see that NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra are the most affordable. They have similar total tuition fees of INR 1.4 Lacs for an MBA. Whereas, NIT Rourkela total tuition fee is INR 4 lakh.

Having said that, NIT Rourkela offers the most amount of MBA seats out of the three NITs, as it offers 75 seats compared to 40 and 53 seats for NIT Hamirpur and NIT Kurukshetra, respectively.

No, all MBA admissions into NIT Hamirpur are done by entrance exams. Candidates have to appear for CAT/MAT or CMAT entrance exam to be eligible for admission into the MBA programme at NIT Hamirpur.

A candidate cannot apply for direct admission into the university and has to apply through these entrance exams to be eligible for admission. The admission in the programme is through multiple rounds, candidates have to be part of a group discussion and a personal interview followed by the payment of tuition fees to finalise their admission.

Yes, NIT Hamirpur MBA admissions are merit-based but they are not done based on merit secured in the entrance exams and graduation. The entrance exam and graduation score allow candidates to be selected for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

A merit list is then released of candidates clearing the GD and PI round, it is according to this merit that provisional admissions into NIT Hamirpur MBA takes place. Therefore, candidates will have to clear multiple rounds to finalise their admission into the programme.

NIT Hamirpur shortlists candidates based on CAT/ MAT and CMAT entrance scores. Candidates who want to apply for an MBA at NIT Hamirpur should appear for these exams and apply for admission to the university. Only candidates who have a valid CAT/ MAT/ and CMAT entrance score are eligible to apply for an MBA.

The scores for the entrance exam are only used for shortlisting of candidates. The admission into the programme takes place through group discussion and personal interview, after the shortlisting of candidates. While applying for admission BTech at NIT Hamirpur, candidates shall keep the below-mentioned documents ready for filling the application smoothly:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Entrance exam scorecard
  • Class 10 mark sheet and pass certificate
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Proof of payment of application fee
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Proof of income (in case of EWS candidates)

There is no minimum percentage criteria required in class 12 to appear in JEE Main. However, it is advised for the candidates to secure minimum 75% marks in class 12 or get admission in IITs, NITs or IIITs. 

The eligibility criteria to appear in JEE Main are:

  • Candidate must have passed or appearing in class 12
  • There is no age limit to appear in JEE Mains

Admission to NIT Hamirpur is mostly determined by entrance. Admission to different courses is conducted by national-level entrance tests like JEE Main, GATE, and so on. Final seat distribution is carried out via CCMN, CCMT, and other counselling sessions. Only JEE Main results are accepted by NIT Hamirpur for admission to its BTech programme. As a result, individuals can apply to NIT Hamirpur for admission to a variety of programs, except for BTech, without taking the JEE Mains.

Admission to NIT Hamirpur is conducted through CCMN scores. Based on the scores, the NIT Hamirpur cutoff 2024 is released for the candidates. The cutoffs vary from college to college. As per the cutoff released, students can get admission if the cutoff rank comes under a range between 500 and 1500. NIT Hamirpur offers MTech courses based on GATE CCMT scores. The students get shortlisted on the basis of merit lists and counselling rounds. While the counselling process starts, candidates with their names in the seat allotment list are provisionally admitted to the respective courses.
