No need to confuse. You should keep in mind-NIT has a tag. Even, both institutes are renowned one, but still if you have any doubt, then you can go for placement records, because academics are best.

The admission is made based on the merit in the qualifying exam and according to the reservation policy mentioned in the prospectus.
Candidates need to fill the new admission form, exam form, as well as computer form in the general prospectus of the Directorate of Distance Education during the beginning of session say in the month of July or August.
Admission fees/dues are to be deposited only on demand from the Directorate after the declaration of merit list and finalization of admission.

Other eligibility criteria.
Candidate must have completed BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com with 50% marks in aggregate/ post-graduation with 55% marks in aggregate.
Admission Process:

Entrance Test:
Eligible candidates need to appear for the entrance test conducted by the MDU/ various states and institutions.
Final Selection:
Candidates are selected based on marks in graduation and performance in entrance test.
