I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), formerly Punjab Technical University (PTU), is a State University located at Kapurthala highway, Jalandhar, India. It was established by an act of State Legislature on 16 January 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state of Punjab at the degree level and above.

The procedure is different for different university. Most of the processing is online.
Some universities are taking admission by conducting admission test and some of them take admission by counseling process .
The counseling process should depend on your percentage of math in B.Sc.

If you are determined to get into any good college then definitely take a gap and prepare well for next year, though there is some problems for 2 years droppers at the time of placements but it will be covered up if you are from any top colleges.
