The Graduate Institute of Business Studies (GIBS) has a comprehensive training programme that equips students with the skills necessary to succeed in placement interviews and assessments. The training begins at the beginning of the Shortened Completion Programme (SCP) and follows a step-by-step approach.
During the SCP, students complete regular aptitude training in quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and verbal skills. This type of training includes the completion of mock assessments designed to replicate real-life company assessments.
In addition, GIBS conducts mock interviews, group discussions, and personal interview practice. Faculty and industry experts provide feedback to improve students' confidence and ability to communicate during the interview process.
GIBS's Placement Team works closely with each student to assist them in building an effective resume, aligning their work profile with their career aspirations, and preparing for HR-type interview questions. Each student learns to recognise their own strengths and how to articulate their career path based on their specialisation.
In addition to these components, GIBS also provides technical and professional development through the process of providing students with soft-skills training, attending personality development sessions, and attending corporate etiquette workshops so that they will be interview-ready for final placements.

GIBS will assist with getting students into job positions that match their specialisation through academic planning, industry exposure and career support, rather than a generic model of job placement. From the beginning, students work with faculty and the placement centre to explore what their interests and career goals are (for example marketing, finance, HR, analytics, operations or entrepreneurship) and develop the appropriate skill sets and opportunities related to those interests.

Specialisation Program: All courses have been designed to meet each major's criteria with real-life examples and projects, as well as assessments to develop skills in your area of expertise.

Skill Development Workshops: Ongoing workshops are offered to improve students' abilities in the respective areas of expertise, with certification opportunities (example: digital marketing, financial modelling or HR analytics), which enhance students' profiles.

The campus has been designed to create specific spaces for group discussions, presentations/interactions with industry representatives and special events like IRE Talks, TEDx and Leadership Programs. These types of environments enable students to develop their confidence and acquire practical, real-world skills required by businesses. Candidates are guided through the process of finding an internship by the GIBS Business School in Bangalore (India): The School of Youth Leadership (SoYL) is a programme that helps students improve their leadership skills, gain self-confidence, and improve their decision-making ability. The Certification Programme in Personal Mastery (CPMP) is a major component of both the PGDM and BBA courses at the GIBS Business School. This course is focused on both the development of effective oral and written communication skills, self-confidence, the ability to work well with other people, and successful leadership in the workplace. As part of the course, students will learn about emotional intelligence and how it relates to their ability to lead others. There are a number of Leadership Development Programs that utilize real-life business situations to give students experience leading.

Some examples of these experiential leadership development programs include:

1. Business Mastery Program (BMP): Students are exposed to real-life business experiences in the form of business projects, company speakers, visits to companies, and learning through the use of case studies.
2. GIBS IRE Talks: The GIBS School hosts regular leadership talks by industry leaders, founders, and global thought leaders to discuss various leadership topics and share personal experiences with students.
3. Webinars and Panels: National and international leaders and experts in various areas of business and leadership will participate in webinars and panel discussions and share their opinions on important issues and trends in business and leadership. Finally, the Skills Mastery Program is a weekly programme dedicated to developing the interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills of students through personal development training. Through this program, students are assigned a mentor who will provide them with guidance and assistance in finding an internship.
