The course-wise placement details for the Class of 2025 are yet to be released on the official website of IIT Kharagpur. Earlier, a total of 37 BArch students registered for the IIT Kharagpur placement session 2024. Out of these, 20 were successfully placed during IIT Kharagpur BArch placements 2024. Earlier, a total of 685 BTech students registered for the IIT Kharagpur placement session 2024. Out of these, 546 were successfully placed during IIT Kharagpur BTech placements 2024. IIT KGP BTech placements 2026 are ongoing. After the first phase of placements 2026, more than 1500 offers have been made at overall level and the highest package stood at INR 2.44 Crore per Annum.

As per IIT Kharagpur JEE-Advanced Cutoff 2025, the overall cutoff for B.Tech programs in Round 6 is 4 - 11111 across all categories. For Bachelor of Science, The Overall closing rank in 2025 in Round 6 is 31 - 13685 across all categories.

IIT Khargapur JAM cutoff 2025 was released for admission to various PG courses. The cutoff was released for different categories belonging to the All India quota. For admission to MSc+PhD in Physics, the cutoff in respect to the General All India category candidates was closed at 280. For the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff for the same course was closed at 686. For SC AI category candidates, the cutoff was closed at 1351.

IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2026 is out for admission for round 1 for admission to the BTech, BArch, BS and BSc courses. The round 1 cutoff ranged from 509 to 13366, wherein BTech CSE and B.Sc. in Applied Geology were the most and least competitve UG courses for admission.

Although the cutoff will be calculated after the declaration of results but according to past trends, cutoff for General students was around 90 percentile, so assuming this year the same trend will be followed. However getting addmission in good institute doesn't depends on only CAT score. You need to score good marks in class 10th and 12th and graduation as well. Personal interview plays a major role for getting admission.

I don't know about the placement scenarios for PhD from TIFR Bombay, but for IIT Kharagpur, pursuing PhD can be a very good choice, as IIT Kharagpur has Top Research facilities. if you want to do research, you will get the best resources of the country, and also many PhD students get placed during the Campus placement cycle, so there are various Job opportunities. And, a PhD from IIT KGP is flexible than any other institute.
