Internal Exams are important for SGPA but they are not deciding factors for pass or fail. So, if a student fails in internals he/she can still pass the semester by scoring good in semester Exams and also submitting the assignments in time. Overall, the student has to score 40% to pass so it includes Internals + Sem Exams + Attendance + Assignments. So, if one got 5 marks in internals he/she has to score 35 more from Semesters and assignments.

In each branch, there are 60 students. Only in ECE and CSE there are 180 students in each. Several students will leave college after 1st year due to partial drop so more or less this is the strength. Boys to girl's ratio is obviously high what else can be expected from an engineering college.

Try to interact with seniors of your branch. Although they will contact the class and be active in club activities. Start coding early as it will fetch you decent placements. Try to create a group of friends that share common interests in a field and participate in those activities. The college has a lot to offer just grab the opportunities and you are all set.

Congratulations, there is no dress code for the college. You can come to college in casuals just make sure it's neat and good for college wear. Apart from that there is no issues about dress code. Bonus, you don't need to carry your ID card every time with you.

Direct admission is possible only through Management Quota but the exact details are not given. You will have to talk to college offline and they will let you know about the fee structure and everything. But yes, it is possible.

College life is good. There are several club activities happening every now and then. Academics are important but it is not the only part of this college. Fests were held each year pre Covid, hope it will be resumed this year. Apart from that you don't have to wear college ID everytime and there is no uniform so that's a cool thing. Seniors are really good and helpful and there is no ragging in the campus. Overall everyone is nice and helpful and you will find people sharing common interests and take part in those activities.

The campus is the most unique thing about HIT-K. The college has a really nice and quite large campus and it is by far the biggest after JU. Also non other private colleges in Kolkata will offer you a campus as Heritage Institute of Technology. It includes 3 canteens, Common Rooms for Table Tennis and a Gym, Basketball court, cricket training nets and a large ground for Football and athletic events. There are several places to sit and talk too. There is good amount of greenery in the campus.
