For admission to IIM Lucknow flagship Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM/ MBA) and PGP ABM and PGP SM programmes, the institute accepts CAT scores. After the release of CAT results, the institute shortlists candidates based on their CAT scores, work experience, academic performance, and several other factors for the WAT and PI rounds. Admissions are possible only after clearing the selection rounds.

IIM Lucknow is a public/government college. IIM Lucknow ranks 5th by NIRF 2025 under the Management category. Being a government college the fee is not very high. Even if the students feel the fee is high worry not and contact the college for scholarship availability information.
