IIMS Pune admissions for the PGDM/MBA course depends on the following selection criteria and their weightage:
- Entrance exam scores for XAT/CAT/CMAT/MAT/MHCET (40% weightage).
- Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds (35% weightage).
- Past Academic Performance (10th, 12th and Graduation/15% weightage).
- Sports/Cultural/NCC/NSS Merit (10% weightage).

For IIMS Pune, the CAT and MAT percentile cutoffs have been released for the 2024 admission year with a cutoff of 60 for CAT and 65 for MAT. Students will find that the cutoff can vary year by year depending on competition, available seats, etc. Also, the overall MAHCET cutoff was 25.88 percentile till the year 2023.

IIMS Pune has been ranked by several reputed national and international bodies such as IIRF, Outlook, Times of India, etc. It's known as one of the best Private MBA institutions of Pune being ranked 2nd in the city by Outlook India's Best B School Survey. Overall, in India it has been ranked by Times of India and the IIRF as 20th and 37th, respectively for MBA/PGDM.

The following documents should be attached or uploaded during IIMS Pune application process, whether it be offline or online:
- Copies of 10th, 12th, and Graduation Marksheets.
- Copy of scorecard from MAT/CAT/CMAT/ATMA exams.
- Copy of experience certificate (if any).
In case of false documents, the whole admission will be rejected by the admissions office.
