Dear Abdul, admission is based on centralized admission process conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharastra. In case, your brother fails to clear the test, don't get disheartened. Try for admission in good private universities. They have different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on the basis of their own tests and some offer direct admission on basis of class 10th marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 10th or entrance tests. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like Lovely Professional University, Dr. C.V. B.Sc. (Information Technology)
(a) A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course of Bachelor of Science-Information Technology, shall have passed XII standard examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics and Statistics as one of the subject and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate for open category and 40% marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates.
(b) The candidate who has passed Diploma (Three years after S.S.C. Xth Std.) in Information Technology/ Computer Technology/ Computer Engineering/Computer Science/ Electrical, Electronics and Video Engineering and Allied Branches/Mechanical and Allied Branches/ Civil and Allied branches, is eligible for direct admission to the second year of the B.Sc. (I.T.) degree course.
