IIM Sambalpur offers admission to MBA course on the basis of CAT scores followed by the Personal Appearance. As per the last three years, the overall CAT percentile for IIM Sambalpur has been consistent at 92, whereas there have been fluctuations in the sectional cutoffs. IIM Sambalpur admission is a three-stage process. The selection is based on CAT, pre-personal interview shortlisting, personal interview and final merit list. Candidates are selected based on the pre-determined sectional and overall CAT cutoff percentile. 

Aspirants are selected for the Pre-PI round. The Pre-PI Score is calculated out of 80. It is determined for MBA by considering below parameters:

• Class 12 = 3
• Graduation = 4
• Work Experience = 20
• Gender Diversity = 5

As per the reservation policy the Government of Haryana, 75 percent of sanctioned intake can be done by HSTES through counselling procedure. 25 percent of seats will be filled by management quota. The remaining seats will be filled by institute level counselling process.

Candidates should have passed at 10th and 12th in the Science stream to apply.

Candidates should be at least 17 years old of age to apply.

Selection is totally based on merit, depending on score in UPSEE and academic merits in the qualifying examination.

85% of seats are allotted accordance to the merit list. 

Remaining all 15% of seats are allotted through Management Quota of the college
