It has the best placements, infrastructure, internships, faculty members, warden and caretakers. Placements: Around 90% of the students got placed from college. The highest salary package offered was 21 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 5.5 LPA

Thapar university is better over CU in many terms such as placements, crowd, facilities, reputation etc. However, Thapar charges more than CU but it is worth to take admission in Thapar. Chandigarh University B.E. (Hons. ). In CSE (Information Security) in Collaboration with IBM course is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21 genuine verified students while VIT Vellore same course is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9 students at Shiksha. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is better than VIT. Punjabi University has failed to feature among 200 top institutions of the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings, 2022, much like last year. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) has suffered a fall of 12 ranks, from 45th overall rank last year to 57th rank this year.

It's possible to get admission at Thapar University, based only on board marks as 50% of the seats, admission is through JEE Main. While for the other 50%, admission is done based on the 10+2 score. In order to get admission based on merit, you need to score above 70% in 10+2.

Yes, it is possible, it won't affect admissions for sure. There are students in top IIM who took time off for UPSC preparation. However, I can't say the same for placements.

The cutoff information for B.Com at Punjabi University is around -
For General Category - 18 marks
For Backward Category - 12 marks
For SC / ST Category - 12 marks
For PWD Category - 12 marks.
So for getting admission need to fulfill this criteria and just go for it
