The scholarships can be availed by ST, SC, EBC, OBC and DNT category students. No, direct admission in the BTech course at NIT Patna is not possible. If you wish to take admission to the NIT Patna BTech course, then you must appear for the JEE Mains followed by the JoSAA counselling.

Candidates require following documents to complete the BTech admission process at NIT Patna:
- Print out of online admission form
- Balance fee payment receipt
- JEE Mains score card
- Provisional seat allotment letter/ admission letter generated from JoSAA/ CSAB/ DASA
- Duly filled undertaking forms
- Medical fitness certificate
- Migration and character Certificates
- Photo identity card
- Class 10 marksheet and certificate
- Class 12 marksheet and pass certificate
- APAAR ID
- Passport size photograph
- Category Certificates (for reserved category candidates)
