For most private nursing colleges in Patna, admission is based directly on Class 12 marks without any entrance exam. However, for government nursing colleges and seats, Bihar may conduct a state-level entrance or merit-based selection through AKU or the state health department. Some central institutions in Patna like AIIMS Patna have their own nursing entrance exams for B.Sc Nursing.

If you belong to the General AI category and have secured a cutoff rank of 2000 in JEE Advanced, the possibility is higher that you will get a call from IIT Patna for BTech admission. IIT Patna BTech closing cutoff 2026 was between 3635 and 6026 for General AI category. So, considering the closing cutoff, 2000 is a good rank for admission.

Yes, NIT Patna is a good option if you want to get admission in Engineering programmes. Since it is part of the NITs, it holds a certain prestige and reputation. NIRF 2025 ranked the institute at 53rd under the Engineering and 13th for Architecture. It is also recognised by the GoI as 'Institute of National Importance'. Some strong points for the institute include its placements, strong alumni network, and decent ROI. So yes, if a good and reputable Engineering government institute is your goal and the cutoff is attainable, then NIT Patna is a good option.
