There is no specific division of seats under State Quota and All India Quota. However, a vertical reservation up to 50% as per Maharashtra Government norm applies. Category-wise reservations are applicable for state students only. EWS seat reservation is for all. There is 5% reservation for Ex/Active Service Personnel children. Applicants outside Maharashtra are considered in General category.

There are total 300 seats offered. The course is offered in 10 specialisations. Each specialisation has different number of seats. There is a seat reservation up to 50% for reserved categories. 5% of total seats are reserved for Ex/Active Service Personnel. However, they should have Domicile of Maharashtra or shall be posted there. Moreover, the applicant must have passed their Class 12 from Maharashtra.

Yes, MIT Institute of Design provides placement support to students. It has an overall good placement record. The university has multiple tie-ups with companies across the globe. The university not only provides placement, but also helps in getting internship and research opportunities. the highest placement recorded is INR 27 LPA. The selection process includes three stages. First stage is Design Aptitude Test. The applications start from October. Last date to apply is generally February last week. Application fee for same is INR 3,000. After exam is concluded, candidates are called for next stage. All selected applicants have to report to MIT Institute of Design campus in Pune. Next stage includes a Studio Test and Personal Interview. After conducting all stages, university releases final merit list of selected students. Final selection is based on total score in all three stages.

Application fee for DAT is INR 3,000. The applications start in October on official website. Last date for form filling is last week of February. The exam is conducted on first Sunday of April. Number of students selected in exam are four times the number of total seat intake. After that stage II & III are conducted on campus. Applicants are filtered in each stage. Final selection is based on combined score in all stages.

The minimum percentage required in Class 12 is 45%. For reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/EWS, minimum aggregate of 40% is required. The university gives admission on the basis of Design Aptitude Test, Studio Test & PI. Cutoff for DAT is not available as per official sources. However, the university decides cutoff and minimum marks every year as per competition.
