Students have the option to choose subjects of their choice from the list given on NIOS website. The NIOS Class 10 subjects are divided into two. They are Group A and Group B. Students at the Secondary level need to take a minimum of 5 subjects, including at least one language, and no more than 2 languages. They can take a maximum of 7 subjects.

In case of loss of Identity Card, a duplicate Identity Card is issued by NIOS. For obtaining Duplicate Identity, the learner needs to lodge an FIR with the concerned police station. Then they should apply through the e-service portal of the website. They should also pay the required fee for the duplicate ID card. Students are advised to keep their ID cards safe.

The learners need to pay the required registration fee and the examination fee. NIOS Theory Exams fee is INR 250 per subject. Students have to pay INR 120 per subject for NIOS Practical exams. Additional INR 50/- will be charged for each transaction. Students have to visit the official website for registration. A learner registering under Stream-2, Stream-3, Stream-4 and desirous to take different subjects or additional subject from parent boards, will have to pay INR 720/- per subject in addition to Admission/Registration Fee, Examination Fee and TOC fee.

The NIOS offers a choice in the medium of studies at the secondary level in English Hindi Urdu, Marathi, Odia, Telugu, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam and Punjabi medium. Students can choose accordingly at the secondary level. The learner is free to choose any one of these mediums for studies. At Class 12 level, the course is offered only Hindi English Urdu mediums. The learner is free to choose any one of these mediums for studies.

The NIOS will release the date sheet for theory and practical exam April session 2025 in March 2025. NIOS date sheet 2025 will be released on the official website, sdmis.nios.ac.in. NIOS 10th practical exam 2025 will be held in March 2025.

NIOS examinations are conducted twice in a year. Block 1 in March/April and Block II in Oct/Nov. The admissions for Block-I usually start during mid of March and continue until the mid of September for the March-April examinations. For the October examinations, the admissions start from the very next day the Block-I admission concludes. i.e from the mid of September until the mid of March of the following year. NIOS 10th and 12th theory exam 2025 was held from October 14 to Dec 2, 2025.

If any students find misprint or error in their NIOS 10th mark sheet, they should immidietely contact the NIOS officials. They should request the authorities to issue a fresh mark sheet.
