To be eligible to get admission to MBA course at NIT Rourkela, students are required to fulfil minimum eligibility criteria for the course. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree of three-year duration from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) are eligible to apply for the course. The students appearing for the final year of their bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.

It provides great career opportunities to students. In the 2022 placements, as per media reports, 1,274 offers were made. The highest and average package offered stood at INR 46.08 LPA and INR 19.04 LPA, respectively. Moreover, NIRF also ranked NIT Rourkela 15 under the Engineering category in the 2022 rankings. Thus, it is a good college for M.Tech aspirants.

Aspirants have to apply for the GATE exam to pursue M.Tech from NITs. Hence, the applicant must take the GATE exam followed by CCMT counselling. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can visit GATE 2023 website (gate.iitk.ac.in) to apply. Further, admission will be granted based on scores in the national-level exam, counselling, and cutoff for NIT Rourkela.
