Students starting their first year at Kakatiya University there is one advice I want to give you that is if you want to enjoy your B.Tech life with holidays you can join this University as for if you intend to join this college to study then I am sorry. Because, in this college you need to start self-studying from Day-1 itself because, no one is going to come and help in you studies. Faculty just teaches you around 30 -40% remaining must be learnt by you and for coming to doubt section lectures will help you but if only you start self studying.

No, you can't get direct admission in Kakatiya University as it is a government college. If you intend to join in KU you need to get in through counselling of EAMCET or ECET, this is for the lateral entries who intend to do engineering after polytechnic

College life at Kakatiya University is good, like you will be getting whole lot of holidays because of some strikes and Bandhs. And coming to sports or annual day you will be having them once a year which will run for whole month and thats kind of fun to have sports days and annual days. And for college timing it is free no one will ask you why you are late or why you are leaving, you can be in college or leave it depends on you which is quite nice compared to other colleges which have strict timing etc.

All campus hostels are under the surroundings of Kakatiya University itself. If you are looking for PG hostels then there are quite few around KU like Bindhu Reddy Hostel, Surekha Reddy, Ramadevi Hostel, Jagruthi Reddy etc. which are near to campus of KU. For Bindhu Reddy, there are 3 branches near KU surroundings with some distance between them.
