For UIUC admissions, international students must meet the English proficiency requirements as well as the entry requirements. Students applying for undergraduate courses can apply through the Common Application. Whereas, graduate students planning to pursue Master's courses can apply through the Official Application Portal. To get enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign international students are required to meet the entry-level requirements. UIUC admission requirements may differ from one programme to another. Furthermore, UIUC general admission requirements for international students are listed below:
- Standard 10th marks in All India Secondary School Certificate or Indian Certificate of Secondary Education
- Final marks in standard 12
- 4-year bachelor’s degree / 3-year bachelor’s degree + 2-year master’s degree / 3-year bachelor’s degree + 1-2 year post-graduate diploma

International students whose 1st language is not English must submit proof of English language test. UIUC accepts English language tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc. International students are required to score minimum marks that are mentioned below-
