Lamar University considers the safety of its students of utmost importance. The LU Police Department ensures the safety of the students and the staff at the university campus. The LU Critical Assessment Response and Evaluation Team (LU CARE Team) is a group of professional staff members that specialize in areas such as law enforcement, mental health, student engagement, and many more to ensure a safe environment on campus. LU also offers an emergency number for the students to report any on-campus emergencies.
