1s year students from India are advised to stay on-campus at Illinois Tech USA. This will help them get used to surroundings, build networks, and have better access to on-campus services.
After 1st year, students can look to move out. Off-campus housing allows students more freedom to go out which is important in the later year of studies to get part-time jobs in the US, internships, or ful-time work. Living off-campus may also be more affordable paricularly for students living in shared housing.

Yes, students can defer their admission at ASU for up to 1 year (two consecutive semesters). Students can apply for UG programme deferral at least 2 weeks before the start of first day of classes in the original semester.
For PG courses, students need to submit a Request Change Form either online or physically on-campus.
Note: Deferrring allows a later start at ASU but it does not gurantee entry to the same programme or major.

No, the University of Michigan is generally not considered a global top 10 university.
Without a doubt, it is a well-known university but as per the US News and World Report, under the Global Universities rankings 2025, this university ranked #21.
Under National University, this ranking is #20. So, it is more of a 'top-50 university' and not a top 10.

No, applying in Early Decision does not negatively affect an Indian student's chances to receive the New York Scholarships.
Opposite to it, applying early and showing strong interest can actually make you a better candidate to these financial aids.
