As per the SIUE admission requirements, international students need to either have a really good GPA or have a high score in the standardized entrance tests like SAT or ACT.
So, if an applicant's GPA is between 2.0 and 2.59 on a 4.0 scale, they would need a minimum score of 990 (in Evidence based reading and writing + math).
By meeting these requirements, the applicant would be automatically admitted to SIUE.

With the university's high acceptance rate, it maybe very easy for Indian students to get admission here. SIUE requires the applicants to have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a scale of 4.0 for the UG students.
In case of not having the mentioned GPA, Indian students are expected to score well in exams like -
- ACT - 19+
- SAT - 990+

Based on the admission rate of over 97%, it can be easy to get into SIUE as an Indian student.
This acceptance rate tells us that this university awarded admission to almost everyone who applied.
But it is definitely very important to meet the SIUE admission requirements to be able to get into it.

Yes, deferral to the next intake at Purdue University is very possible for Indian students.
If an applicant has received an offer letter for the Fall intake, they can get it deferred for the Spring or Summer intake, given that the particular course is available in that semester.
The students can simply do it via the official admission portal and by writing an email to the Purdue admissions office.
