Yes, CU Boulder does require applicants to submit an essay as part of the application process. Generally, applicants are required to submit two essays in the application, one is a personal essay explaining personal interest and a general idea about the applicant. The second one should answer why the applicant wants to study a particular programme at CU Boulder. Both these essays are considered mandatory as they allow the university to personally know the applicant's intentions of applying and wanting to study at the university. Failing to submit these two essays will result in an incomplete submission of the application.

Although the university doesnt specify the exact GPA needed fro admission, Applicants must target a GPA of around 3.6-3.8 or higher for securing an admission at CU Boulder. Applicants must also focus on other basic admission requirements like english proficiency test scores and submission of mandatory docments liek academic transceipts, essays, recommendatiosn and more acocrding to the programme they are applying for.
