Yes, IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarships, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. IIT BHU is a government institute. IIT BHU was founded in 1919 as Banaras Engineering Colleges, later on, it was established as IIT BHU in 2012. IIT BHU admits students on the basis of various national-level exams such as JEE Advanced, JEE Main, NATA, IIT JAM, etc. The institute has 15 departments and 3 schools through which it offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses in Engineering, Architecture, Science and Pharmacy streams.
