The Faculty of Visual Arts of Rabindra Bharati University offers a BFA programme of four-year duration under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The programme is divided into eight semesters of six months each. There are a total of five specialisations. Candidates who wish to apply for more than one subject, have to apply separately.

Yes, RBU offers 11 programmes in distance learning mode from its Salt Lake campus. These programmes are offered under the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) and are recognised by the Distance Education Council (DEC). In addition to this, candidates can also seek admission to distance programmes offered at RBU Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). There is no age bar for admission to distance courses and the courses offered through distance mode are MSW and MA in 10 different specialisations.

The final selection of some of the courses is based on practical and/ or theoretical tests conducted by the university and the merit obtained in the qualifying examination. The university also conducts online interviews for the final selection of some of the courses. Rabindra Bharati University (RBU) has three faculties, namely Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, and Faculty of Visual Arts, that offer UG, PG, and doctoral programmes.
