To get admission in a college the 1st step is preparing well and the 2nd step is counselling. Many of the students make mistake in the 2nd part resulting in getting away from the desired seat and college. During counselling as we can keep as many options we want 1st start with the highest demand branches in the top college even though you haven't scored well because if you have good luck you might end up getting seat and then go down decreasing the group popularity also if you didn't get any group wait till the end of counselling process (in JEE counselling wait for the special round to be completed). .
