The COMEDK UGET and Uni-Gauage exams are conducted annually for admissions to engineering courses in Karnataka. The basic difference between the COMEDK and Uni-Gauge exams lies in the participating institutes. The COMEDK UGET exam is conducted for admissions to private engineering colleges in Karnataka only. Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) UGET is an examination for students pursuing undergraduate courses from the registered institutes of Karnataka.

According to the latest notice by COMEDK UGET, the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) examination was held on May 10, 2025, and May 25, 2025.
The registration process usually begins in the month of March, followed by the application form during the month of April and Admit Card during the month of May.

COMEDK UGET Exam is conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. The examination will be held on 12 May 2024.
The candidates who want to pursue undergraduate engineering courses in the state of Karnataka can give this exam.
The exam consists of 2 mandatory subjects - Mathematics and Physics. Followed by optional subjects - Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics or Computer Science .

The college makes the admission of candidates via different procedures:
- Government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test (CET) by which 45% seats of total intake is filled.
- 30% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through COMED-K test, which is also conducted by Karnataka Govt.
- 25% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through management quota.
- AICTE has approved 15% extra seats for foreign nationals/PIO/NRI/students whose parents work in Gulf countries over and above the sanctioned intake
The college offers a 5% of marks relaxation in the eligibility criteria for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
