There are multiple job opportunities available in the field of IT. As per NASSCOM Indian IT Industry revenues grew by 13% in FY2015 and it added 2,30,000 employees in FY15. NASSCOM has forecasted that IT industry exports will grow by 12-14% and domestic market by 15-17% in FY2016 ( Actual data is yet to be released. I would say it's yet to gain momentum. It would be easier to explain if the question has specialisations in robotics. Robotics has several aspects: mechanics, motor controls, sensors and actuators, vision, computing, and intelligence. There are numerous companies working on these fields individually, but there are hardly few companies working on all of these domains or on a robotic product as such. All the branches of engineering are equally good and have tremendous job opportunities. It entirely depends on how well you understand and handle the stream and increase your scope of growth.

There is good scope in the field only if it matches your interest and skills. If it matches, then you must opt for it.
* Jobs in government sector after computer engineering are :
- Graduates can work with different government companies such as DRDL, ISRO, ONGC, HCL, ISRO, ECIL and BEL.
- They can also attend competitive exams conducted by UPSC, SSC etc.
- The job profiles offered in public sector is much similar to that in private sector enterprises. The main advantage of government, sector job is that it provides job security.
