Yes! If you take admission in a government or BMC-run dental college in Maharashtra, there's usually a mandatory bond service policy attached to your seat. This means you may need to serve in a government-designated position for a certain period after graduation. Check the table below for the only government Dental college in Mumbai:
| Top Government Dental Colleges in Mumbai (All) | Tuition Fee |
|---|---|
| Government Dental College And Hospital, Mumbai Dental Courses | INR 3 Lacs - INR 3.3 lakh |

Yes, that's correct, and many students don't realise this before choosing BDS. If you wish to switch to MBBS later, you cannot transfer your BDS credits; you'd have to reappear for NEET-UG and start MBBS completely from scratch. Instead, most BDS graduates prefer pursuing MDS specialisation, which is equally rewarding as a career path.

No, it's not possible. NEET UG is compulsory for BDS admission at every dental college in Mumbai, whether government or private. After qualifying NEET, you'll need to go through Maharashtra CET counselling based on your NEET score, category, and seat availability. There's no direct or management quota route that skips NEET.
