I am not very sure whether one can get good placement opportunities after completing Masters in designing from State School of Design or not. You should do it from a place where it's worth paying fees and you can get to learn enough.If you want to do Bachelor's in designing only then there are much better colleges for it like NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology ), NID (National Institute of Design), IIT - CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design). These colleges are design specialised and will give you better career opportunities. These all are government colleges and comes under top 50 design colleges all over the world. One can easily get a starting salary of around 3 LPA.I hope you will make a good decision.

First of all there is nothing like a successful designer like thing. They are all successful businessmen, not merely designers. To make a name in the fashion industry, especially in a country like India then you need to think like a businessman, not like a fashion designer. You can outsource things rather to make and design them for yourself. Search for the vendor, who can make garments for you. One needs to think about customer point of view and then design smartly according to the customers need. You can also do some short Diploma courses from colleges like NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) or from wherever you prefer to do it from. Some of the Diploma courses you can pursue are:
- Fashion designing
- Apparel designing
- Styling
- Fashion history
- Entrepreneurship
- Fashion marketing
- Apparel production
- Textile designing
- Fashion management

Fashion designing in Alld university is categorised under the IPS department which is Institute for professional studies. There are four courses under IPS among which fashion designing is one. The admission forms for the entrance exam will be available around April.
The exam will be conducted in the month of may or June. You can fill the form online by visiting the official site of alld university. After qualifying the entrance exam you will be called for counseling in the IPS/food and technology department and will be confirmed for the admission.
Syllabus for entrance exam is not specific. The exam is conducted online. You will be allotted a centre for the exam in your preferred city and you will have to answer through computer as there will be 150 objective questions related to G.K, fashion and some logical and analytical ability questions.
As for me, I did not study an inch for the exam and yet backed the 2nd rank among 500 girls.
So if you too are a mediocre at studies, just be updated with current affairs.
It's a girls course and the department of fashion designing is in the women's hostel of alld university.

Ramaiah university of applied Science are very non design background colleges. You should do it from a place where its worth paying fees and can get to learn enough. If you want to do master's in designing only then there are much better colleges for it like NIFT (national institute of fashion technology ), NID (national institute of design), IIT - UCEED ( undergraduate common entrance examination for design ). These colleges are design specialised and will give you better career opportunities. these are all government colleges and comes under the top 50 design colleges all over the world. one can easily get an starting salary of three Lacs per annum atlest. Hi,
Go for higher studies or pursue for a job after completing Bachelors in science jewelry design and management. If you want to do government jobs or you are very keep to study further then you should go for higher studies. Otherwise, if you want to do private jobs only, then it's better you start early because in industry, experience is always more valuable than a Master's degree. So, why to pay fee for another two years? It's better you earn money and add up to your experience because what you learn in the industry is totally different than what you learn at college. Jewelry designing is more of a practical subject which you learn with experience more.
Whatever you choose to do, just make sure what you want from your life. I hope you make a good decision.

You should do it from a worthy place where its worth paying the fee and learning. If you want to do Bachelors in designing only then there are much better colleges for it like NIFT, NID and IIT-UCEED. These colleges are design specialised and will give you better career opportunities. These are all government colleges and come under the top 50 design colleges all over the world. The answer is a big no. It's not worth at all to pursue Master's degree in jewellery designing from distance learning in India and it is not only about India, you just can't go for a distance learning jewellery designing course. These are the reasons why I am saying no:
1. It is a practical course, so how will you manage to learn through distance when it's meant to be a regular course.
2. None of the good and reputed colleges of India offer a distance jewellery designing Master's degree.
3. Even if some colleges offer a distance programme then jewellery designing is a field where you need to practice on regular bases. So, it doesn't matter whether you are doing it from India or abroad.
4. Distance learning wouldn't help you to get a good job as a jewellery designer.
So, I will suggest you to go for a regular programme from colleges like NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology ) and Pearl Academy.
