It is really important to wisely choose a college for Fashion Designing because Fashion Designing is a practical oriented programme and requires a person to have a proper understanding about the techniques being used in it. I have done my graduation from PCTE Group of Institutes, PCTE is one of the colleges that provides hands on experience to its students whether its related to basic level of designing where the students are indulged in making sketches, or whether its graphic designing where they are taught professional software like coral draw, photoshop and adobe illustrator. The students also learn how to construct garments of all segments, they learn pattern making, draping which includes surface ornamentation techniques as well. Besides this, the students also present their collection on their annual graduating show.

The eligibility criteria for M.Des is 3 or 4 years Bachelor degree in any discipline. The admission in asked course are based on Entrance exam conducted by respective Institutes. B.Sc in Textile Deign is a 3 years full time under graduate course which is divided into 6 semesters. It covers a wide area of study related to textile designing which includes studying various concepts, new trends in designs like embroidery, prints, weaving, coloring and also combining them with new technology and computer application. The course requires the students to think with creativity and innovation. The courses stress on creative explorations and from concept to prototype developed through various stages of further explorations and refinement. This study emphasizes on building a variety of skills, which combination with theoretical knowledge and practical application. This study commences with the fundamentals of textile design. This study includes, weave structure, textile fibers, surface design, printing methods, dyeing techniques, sewing techniques, constructed textiles and basic inputs in garment design. The courses stress on creative explorations and from concept to prototype developed through various stages of further explorations and refinement. The curriculum emphasizes on building a variety of skills, in combination with theoretical knowledge and practical application. The programme commences with the fundamentals of textile design. This includes textile fibers, weave structure, surface design, dyeing techniques, printing methods, sewing techniques, constructed textiles and basic inputs in garment design. The B. Des graduates are employed with the textile manufacturing industry differentiated by wide range of materials, products and markets. Some graduates are designer-entrepreneurs having established their own companies in textiles and fashion.
