Seeing last year's cutoff students who scored more than 980 marks got the seat and your JEE percentile would also be not that great so you won't get the admission into sastra University.

Firstly congratulations for the Jee Mains Rank. As your rank is 5790 you can get into any NITs in India. If you want to get top branches then you should go for the 2nd tier NITs like NIT Durgapur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Bhopal etc. If you want to get into top NITs the you should go for NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Rourkela etc. These are the few top NITs in India. Other than that also You can go for the IIITs like IIIT Hydranbad, IIIT Bnagaore, IIIT Delhi. These are some of the best IIITs of India. And you should go to csab round after josaa counselling to get the best possible branch. In my opinion you should go for the top NITs. For t

Since you have not mentioned your category so consider it as general. You might not get the excellent colleges of your expectations but on such percentile and category, you have some chances of getting some colleges through MHT CET counseling according to the previous year's cut-off. You can try and apply to these colleges if you are genuinely interested in engineering.
1. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Institute of Technology, Shedung, Panvel
2. Dr. D. Y. Patil School OF Engineering, Lohegaon, Pune
3. Vidyavardhini's College of Engineering and Technology, Vasai

With a JEE Main rank of 214000, you may still have opportunities to get admission to some colleges. While the top NITs, GFTs, IIITs might be difficult to get into with this rank, you may still have a chance at some of the less popular ones. Many state engineering colleges accept JEE main scores for admission. You might have a chance at these colleges depending on the specific cutoffs. Many private colleges accept JEE main scores. Some of these colleges might have higher cut-offs and could be an option. You are advised to visit: JEE Main Rank Predictor 2024: Calculate JEE Rank From Percentile/Score

NITs are renowned for their engineering programs across various disciplines. The rank of 5800 JEE Mains might get you a seat in some of the top NITs, depending on specific NIT and the branch availability. NIT is a government recognised institute which might help you secure better positions in future. You must consider your choice on the basis of the branch you would persue. On the other hand IIIT Banglore being a private institue may lack in teaching infrastructure in making students industry ready.
