A.R. Engineering College Villupuram Chennai (AREC) has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:
CoursesEligibility
B.E. / B.TechCandidate must have passed VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. from schools situated in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu native candidate who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should produce Original Nativity Certificate.
Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can be eligible to apply.
Sons & daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply. A Self declaration from the parent in this regard is to be produced.
Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible, irrespective of their domicile.
Other State candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.

After 10th DiplomaCandidates must have passed H.S.L.C./10th or its equivalent examination in a single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects (Without grace marks in Maths and Science and also have to pass indivisually in both Theory and Practical/ Internal assessment) with average 40% marks in Mathematics and Science for General/ OBC/ MOBC category (35% marks for SC and 33% marks for ST category) from a recognised board/institute.
The maximum age limit is 20 years 6 months for UR/OBC/MOBC as on 31-12-2023 and for 23 years 6 months for SC/ST as on 31-12-2023.
Candidates must be a Permanent resident of Assam.

School of Engineering and Technology application forms for session 2023-2024 has been ended and class has already been commenced.

For session 2024-2025 the application form will out in first week of September just after the JEE advanced results announced.

As per previous years trend the forms get released in month of September on the official website with fee of 1000 INR.

The steps to fill application form is very simple which includes 

  • Filling personal information like name, phone number, gaurdian information, address, etc.
  • Filling of 10+2 marks and the qualifying exam marks.
  • Branch choice filling
  • And at last the payment of the applicat

To enroll in any Indian university to pursue a B.Tech :-

•In the Class 12 Board Examinations, students must receive at least a 50% grade from an accredited educational board.

•They then need to meet the minimum cutoff score needed for their category in the JEE MAINS National Level Entrance Examinations. They can then list every college that is appropriate for their course and apply for counseling in order to be admitted.

  • The minimum score needed for a B.Tech varies depending on the category. The JEE MAINS Entrance Examination results are available for students to view.
