In general, students admitted to the particular branch of the undergraduate BTech course must continue studying that branch till completion. However, in special cases the institute may permit a student admitted through JEE to change their branch of study after the first two semesters. Such changes are permitted only for students who have completed all the common credits required in the first two semesters of their studies, in their first attempt, without having had to pass any course requirement in the summer term examination.

The R-6 closing cutoff for BTech at IT Patna in the year 2022 stood between 2,685 and 14,895 for different BTech specialisations. For a majority of BTech specialisations, the cutoffs have seen a drop in the year 2022 compared to 2021 leading to decresed competition but for CSE, the scenario is opposite as the cutoffs have become slightly more competitive in 2022 compared to 2021. Tabulated below are the JoSAA R6 closing ranks for IIT Patna cutoff 2022, along with 2021 and 2020 cutoffs for the General category students, to get clarity on past year trends:

Yes, The authorities will release the final HPCET answer key. After receiving the objections submitted against the provisional HPCET answer key, the authorities will review them. The final answer key of HPCET will be prepared after all of the objections are reviewed. Candidates will be able to use the final HPCET answer key to calculate their probable secured scores in the entrance exam. The authorities will not accept any objections against the final answer key. HPCET results will be prepared based on the final HPCET answer key.

HPCET 2026 answer key date will be announced soon. Candidates can access the HPCET answer key as PDFs. The authorities will make the answer key available online at himtu.ac.in. No other mode will be used to release the answer key of HPCET. The correct responses to the question paper will be available through the answer key. Using the answer key, the candidates will be able to calculate their probable scores secured in the examination.

Yes. The candidates will be able to personally submit the objections against the provisonal HPCET answer key. To raise the objections physically, the candidates will have to submit their written complaints to the office of the Controller of Examinations, H.P. Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur (H.P.)-177001. Along with the complaint, the candidates will have to submit the supporting documents/proofs. If the candidates fail to submit the supporting documents/proofs, then the authorities will not accept the objection.
