With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs. Top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are out of reach, but options like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Kota, IIIT Nagpur, and GFTIs such as Gurukul Kangri Haridwar are possible.

Likely Colleges for CSE (Based on 2025 Cutoffs)

Institute TypeCollege NameCSE Closing Rank (EWS)Your Chances
Mid-tier NITsNIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Raipur~10,000–13,000✅ Possible
Newer NITsNIT Uttarakhand, NIT Arunachal, NIT Meghalaya~12,000–15,000✅ Strong
IIITsIIIT Kota, IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Bhagalpur~11,000–14,000✅ Strong
GFTIsGurukul Kangri Haridwar, Assam University, Mizoram University~15,000–18,000✅ Very likely
Top NITsNIT Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad~2,000–5,000❌ Not possible

 Key Insights

  • EWS Rank (11,884): This is the deciding factor. Many mid-tier NITs and IIITs close around 12k–15k for CSE.
  • CRL Rank (79,364): Too high for General category seats, but EWS quota gives you leverage.

The last cutoff for Electrical Engineering (EE) at MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur (REAP 2025) was around JEE Main rank 25,000–45,000 in the General category, with lower ranks accepted for reserved categories. With your 67 percentile in JEE Main (approx. rank ~3.5–4 lakh) and 94.8% in Class 12th, admission to EE at MBM through the main rounds is unlikely, but you may still have a chance in spot rounds or through lower-demand branches

Electrical Engineering (EE)25,000–45,000 rank~50,000~70,000~90,000~40,000

(Note: Percentile-to-rank conversion varies yearly; 67%ile ≈ 3.5–4 lakh rank, which is outside the cutoff range for EE in MBM.)

Yes, the specialised M.Tech branches have very good placement records. Students from Food Technology and Apparel Technology get jobs in niche industries. Companies like Priya Foods and various textile mills actively seek these graduates. Since these are specialised roles, the competition from other colleges is often lower.
