If you are good in technical and you are ready for hard work then you should go for preparation of GATE.

I am also a GATE aspirant. According to me, if you are good in technical, then you should take a risk and drop a year rather than placement. After good GATE score, you have excellent career options.

Material technology is not very good at NITS. In NITS there is not very pressure of work so you will get time for preparation.

GATE score required for IISC-Bangalore is more than 750. For safer side, your score should be 800 above to get good branch.

Elegibility of TUM is not score based its only 90percentile. It means under 20k rank.

GATE exam doesn’t matter. All depends on GATE rank and branch. For example, in core branches, rank should be under 500 for ECE rank should be under 200 for PSU.
