General Eligibility Criteria
Indian national, as well as foreign nationals, are eligible for JAM.
Candidates applying for JAM should have Bachelor's degree as a qualifying examination degree.
The qualifying examination must be passed with minimum 55% aggregate marks (in all subjects including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) without rounding off.
Candidates belonging from SC/ST category are required to obtain at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off.
In case of grading system/CGPA, the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting Institute.
Candidates who are pursuing the qualifying examination

First, you have to do BA (Hons.) English. If you don't want a regular course, you can try school of open learning. After that, if you want to become a teacher in school, B.Ed. is required.

Definitely, English honors in BA helps you in doing MA in English. But if you have completed your graduation, your score in English must be better. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.
