There is no course that offers a certificate program in English Literature.

English is the only common language in the whole world. Being a student of engineering, I personally think that English is as important as other subjects are in your curriculum. You can collect the last 10 years of MA English entrance paper of BHU through net or any other means and practice it. Analyze yourself where you need growth and again practice. After doing this you can purchase some good books from market and practice it.

Let me tell you that after BA, MA would be like an icing on the cake but you have other options like you can go for MBA, LLB and can also go for civil services like UPSC as you have mentioned that your elders asked you to pursue mass communication.
