The Engineering Services Examination, also known as the Indian Engineering Services, is a purely central government job with central government pay scales. PSU is a government-owned corporation that is used to refer to companies in which the government either the Union Government or state or territorial governments, or both owned a majority of 51 % or more of the company's equity. While you hear that the salaries are lower in comparison to PSUs, it is not always true because sometimes PSUs pay more than the ESE service. 1- Assistant executive engineers, assistant works managers, and assistant directors were available at the time of selection.

3- After 8 years of service as a superintending engineer, deputy general manager, and joint director (equivalent to Deputy Secretary to the Government of India).
4- After 13 years as Chief Engineer level 2 and Joint General Manager that is equivalent to Director to the GOI.
5- After 20 years of service as Chief Engineer and Additional General Manager that is equivalent to Joint Secretary to the GOI.
6- after 30 years of service Engineer-in-Chief, Senior General Manager that is equivalent to Additional Secretary to the GOI.
7- After 34 years of service as Chairman, Director General, and Managing Director that is equivalent to Secretary to the GOI.

If you want admission in lower NIT's and North east NIT's then 95 percentile is needed. So here you do have the chances of getting NIT. But the same cannot be said for the popular streams of engineers as the seats for such popular streams like CSE, ECE fill up first.
