Candidates for the IES 2026 exam will be able to correct their application details only once after the last date of application, as mentioned in the provided sources. The Commission will release the UPSC IES 2026 applications on September 17, 2025. The Commission will provide around 20 days for IES application filling process. The Union Public Service Commission will also provide the IES 2026 application correction facility.

Yes, the Commission provided the IES application correction facility for the IES 2024 exam, allowing candidates to change their application details once only. The candidates were not allowed to change their UPSC registration details.
The Commission do not charge the application correction fee for such changes. The IES 2024 exam application correction facility on September 27, 2023.

The IES 2024 applications were started in September 2023. The IES 2024 prelims exam was conducted on February 18, 2024.

The Union Public Service Commissionwill release the Engineering Service Exam Notification 2026 on September 17, 2025. The Commission will provide around 20 days to fill out the IES applications. The last date to fill out the IES 2026 application form is October 7, 2025. Candidates must complete the application process within this deadline to be considered for the exam.
The Commission will conduct the IES 2026 prelims exam on February 8, 2026 as per the exam pattern and rules provided in the official exam pattern.

The Commission is expected to release the Indian Engineering Service Main Exam 2026 admit card online three weeks before the exam dates. The Union Public Service Commission releases the Tie-Resolution principle in the IES cutoff pdf. The Commission mentions the following in the cutoff pdf:
Wherever two or more candidates have secured equal aggregate marks in ESE the tie(s) have been resolved in accordance with the principles approved by the Commission, viz.
(i) The candidates with more marks in subject/technical papers plus marks of Personality Test may be ranked higher;
(ii) In case the total marks in the subject/technical papers plus marks of Personality Test are equal, thecandidate who is senior in age may be ranked higher.

The Union Public Service Commission conduct the IES prelims exam in offline mode. The Commission prepares the IES answer key and compare the answers of the candidates with it. With comparing, the Commission calculate the marks of the candidates by awarding 2 marks for each correct question and deducting 0.6 marks for each incorrect answer.
The Commission arrange the candidates in order of their merit in their category. The candidates from other category can be counted in unreserve category if they score equal or better marks than the Unreserved Category candidate.
