M.Tech programs in India can be accessed in other ways apart from the GATE score. Even though GATE is the commonest route, other ways to enter may be available based on where you want to study. Let's take apart this topic into smaller parts.

Unlike the IELTS exam, the PTE exam is concluded in a single sitting within a day. While students get to attempt all the three parts of the PTE exam within a single sitting, the Speaking section of the IELTS exam needs to be attempted on a different day then the rest of its sections (or the main exam), and it can be taken within 1 week of the main exam. The overall duration of the PTE exam is also shorter than the IELTS exam, i.e. ~2 hours and 2 hours 45 minutes respectively.

The APEdCET seat allotment is based on candidate's rank, preferences for colleges, and seat availability. Candidates with higher rank will be given preference in seat allocation. Once the seat is allotted, the student will have to confirm it by paying the admission fee, if they fail to do so, the seat will be forfeited.

The APEdCET counselling process starts a few days after the results and merit list is released. The counselling is conducted in multiple rounds to accommodate candidates with different ranks. Candidates should regularly check the official website for updates regarding the exact schedule and important dates to avoid missing any deadlines.
