With an EWS rank of 8,100 in JEE Main, getting top NITs may be difficult, but you can get branches in newer or lower-ranked NITs. In 2024, NIT Srinagar had closing ranks of 47,482 (Mechanical) and 55,447 (Metallurgical) for EWS. Cutoffs change yearly based on applicants, difficulty, and seats. Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics application process is a mandatory step to confirm the candidature. Post application submission, candidates are required to appear for a one-hour-long online entrance test conducted by the Institute. The MDAE test fee is worth INR 2.5 K with 3 sections (Maths, Logic and Basic Economics). Candidates appearing for other entrance exams such as GMAT and CAT will be exempted from taking the in-house entrance test. However, candidates must secure -600+ in GMAT or 90 percentile and above in CAT to be eligible for the exemption.

B.P.C students are not eligible to get a free seat in B.Tech CSE (through EAMCET) since that does come? under (M)PC.
Alternatives:
- Re-do maths bridge course (if allowed by? state)? Register for limited technology courses.
- CSE (Polytechnic) diploma? Lateral entry? in B.Tech CSE (2nd year)
- B.Sc. Computer Science/IT? Go into software jobs? after.
