IIT Dhanbad B.Tech admission is based on JEE Advanced Cutoff ranks. The IIT Dhanbad JEE Advanced Cutoff 2024 was out for Round 5, for admission to various B.Tech courses. The toughest course to get into the college for the General AI category candidates was Computer Science and Engineering, with the closing Cutoff rank of 3846. The easiest course for the General AI category was B.Tech. in Mining Machinery Engineering, with the closing cutoff rank of 15321.

Candidates who have qualified CUET UG can also send their application for BSc (Hons) admission. The university conducts an aptitude test for the aspirants who have not qualified any of the accepted entrance exam i.e, KREE. Additionally, candidates are required to attend the PI round.
