What is FTII JET?
FTII JET is conducted annually in centres across the country. It is conducted for admission to postgraduate, and postgraduate diploma and certificate courses at two of the most renowned film and TV institutes in the country - Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata. There are two wings under FTII -
- Film Wing: It offers courses such as direction & screenplay writing, editing, acting, cinematography, feature film screenplay writing, sound designing and recording and art direction & production design
- Television wing: It offers courses such as direction, electronic cinematography, sound recording & television engineering, and video editing.
Students from across the country aspire to study film and TV at these famous institutes. Approximately 5 to 6 thousand students register for the exam every year. Relatively, the number of seats offered by the institutes is quite low. This makes the entrance test more and more competitive each passing year.
The FTII JET is conducted in two stages:
For Courses in TV and Film Wing (Except MFA in Cinema in Screen Acting)
Stage 1: Written Test (100 Marks)
- Paper-I: MCQ (60 Marks)
- Paper-II: Subjective (40 Marks)
Stage 2: Mixed Format Assessment-Practical, Analytical, Performance & Interaction
For MFA in Cinema in Screen Acting
Stage 1: Written Test (MCQ based written Test)
Stage 2: Audition, Performance and Interaction
