The Union Public Service Commission UPSC administers the Combined Defence Services CDS exam. I assume you want to compare the Civil Service and CDS. Both are reputed government jobs but are unique in the nature of work. Here is a brief comparison given between the two services:
Civil Services:

Hello Sahithi, Firstly I'm from SRM Amravati. Glad to SEE your question. I joined here through Andhra Pradesh EAPCET only, So I'm the right one to answer this question. If you are aiming for a CSE seat I would say there are few chances to get it. But If you are okay with the other branches then you may get the seat.
