OBC-NCL and EWS category need not submit any category certificate while filling the GATE application form. All candidates have to submit the following -
- Photograph and signature (as per specifications)
- Valid photo ID (such as Aadhar card, PAN Card, Voter ID, etc.)
- Foreign nationals have to upload, either a Driving License or passport (in the valid ID section)
Category candidates must upload their caste certificate, and PwD/Dyslexic candidates must submit their medical (PwD or dyslexic certificate) to avail compensatory time.

Students will not be given any extra time to complete 12 additional questions in BITSAT paper. Additional questions have to be solved within 3 hours. These will only be provided if students complete 130 original questions before exam ends.

Candidates can change the following details during the GATE 2026 form correction process -
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Choice of exam cities
- Change in existing cities
- Adding a second paper
- Gender change
- Change in category, etc.
Candidates who want to modify their application form have to pay a specific amount through netbanking/credit card/debit card, etc. Last year, the fee for each change was INR 500 per particular.

Students will be given 12 additional questions if they finish all 130 questions within 3 hours. Three questions will be available from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. Students will not be able to go back to previously answered 130 questions, once they start solving additional questions.

According to BITSAT exam pattern, every correct answer will be given 3 marks. Maximum marks for BITSAT is 390. For every wrong answer, one mark will be cut. Since there is negative marking, students should be careful while selecting questions to answer.

Here's what different GATE status mean-
- Received - this means that application has been received
- Under scrutiny - form is under review
- Accepted - means form is accepted by authorities
- Defect status - has discrepancies in form and needs to be corrected within given time
- Status after rectification - application status after submitting rectification
- Rejected - means GATE form is rejected for valid reasons
Candidates can check their GATE application status using enrollment ID and password

- Then click on application form link

Yes. The UPESEAT 2026 exam will be condcuted as a remote proctored test. Candidates have to turn their cameras on for the entire exam duration. This measure is taken so that no student gets any undue advantage with the test being held online.
